 IELTS Test - Cue Card Part 2


Our IELTS speaking test (2024-2025) is updated regularly with new questions. These questions are designed to assess fluency, coherence, lexical resource, grammatical range and accuracy, and pronunciation. It's beneficial to practice with a variety of current topics to prepare effectively.

LAST UPDATE on Feb. 27, 2026

     Argument
Describe an argument between two people who are close to you. You should say:

- who the people were
- what the argument was about
- when and where it happened

and explain how you felt about the situation.
     Books
Describe a book that you have read more than once. You should describe:

- what the book is
- when you first read it
- why you decided to read it again

and explain why theis book is worth reading.
     Building
Describe a building you would like to visit. You should say:

– what kind of building it is
– where you have seen or heard about it
– what you know about it

and explain why you would like to visit this building.

     A public place you visited (Australia Feb. 2026)
Describe a public place you went to and liked. You should say:

– what the place was
– where it was located
– when you visited it

and explain why you liked this place.
     Gratitude & Appreciation
Describe a time when you said "thank you" to someone. You should say:

- who the peopeson was
- what you were thanking for
- how you expressed your gratitude

and explain how you felt after saying "thank you".
     Help & Support
Describe a person you know who always helps others. You should say:

– who this person is
– how you know them
– what they do to help other people

and explain why you think this person is willing to help others.
     Incorrect Information
Describe a time when you heard or received incorrect information. You should say:

- when it happpened
- what the incorrect information was
- how you found out it was wrong

and explain how you felt and what you did about it.
     Incorrect Information
Describe a time when someone gave you incorrect information. You should say:

- when it happpened
- what the incorrect information was
- how you realized it was wrong

and explain how you felt about receiveing that information.
     Incorrect Information (Italy Feb, 2026)
Describe a time when someone gave you wrong information and you later discovered it was not true. You should say:

– what the information was
– who gave it to you
– how you found out it was incorrect

and explain how you felt about the situation.
     Invention
Describe the greatest invention you know. You should say:

- what the invention is
- when you first learned about it
- how it is used

and explaind why you think it is such an important invention.
     Good News
Describe a piece of good news you heard from someone close to you. You should say:

- what the news was
- who told you about it
- how you felt when you heard it

and explain why this news was important to you.
     Lesson
Describe an English lesson that you enjoyed. You should say:

- where and when the lesson took place
- what the teacher did in the lesson
- what activities you did during the class

and explain why you enjoyed this lesson.
     Relationship
Describe a person you studied with and got along well with. You should say:

– who the person is
– where and what you studied together
– what kind of relationship you had

and explain why you got along well with this person.
     Shop or Store
Describe a store or shop that you would like to visit. You should say:

– what kind of shop it is
– where it is located
– what you can buy there

and explain why you would like to go to this shop.
     Talent
Describe a special talent of yours. You should say:

– what the talent is
– when you discovered it
– how you have developed or used it

and explain why this talent is special to you.
     Teaching
Describe a time when you taught a friend or a family memeber how to do something. You should say:

– who you taught
– what you thaught them
– how you thaught them

and explain how felt about this experience.
     Trip (1)
Describe a city you would like to visit for a short trip. You should say:

- what city it is
- where it is located
- what you would like to do there

and explain why you want to visit this city for a short trip.
     Trip (2)
Describe a car journey you remember well. You should say:

- when it happened
- where you went
- who you were with

and explain why you remember this trip so clearly.
